Today we talked about color, one of the elements of art. Students created their own color wheels. We discussed primary colors, secondary colors, warm colors, and cool colors. We also looked at famous paintings and discussed how artists use color to express emotion in their work.

Today students wrote their name on an Egyptian cartouche using hieroglyphics, the ancient Egyptian system of writing!
Yesterday, students created their own Hanging Gardens of Babylon! If you get the chance, ask your student why the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were created long ago.
Students learned that the Mesopotamians wrote using symbols. This type of writing is called cuneiform. Students wrote in cuneiform on clay tablets last week!
